I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to see everything around you when the weather is trash.

The guy in that Infiniti is a moron and deserves a ticket.  It is one thing to not clear the snow off your roof, it is another to only clear half of your windshield.

On my drive in today, there was a woman at a stop light, flashers on, clearing snow off her windshield after it slid off her roof when she came to a stop.

N ow after she’s deposted all her roof snow onto her windshield, she’s blocking a lane of traffic and standing in the street with a snow brush. At least the homeless guy that camps out there was giving her an earful.

I saw a woman driving a lincoln MKZ with a snow broom in her hand out the window trying to scrape ice off the windshield as she drove down the street.

Obligatory “they weren’t going to use their mirrors anyway so why does it matter?” comment.

I feel sorr y for them, and their lack of a heated garage to park the car.

Heated garages just rust your car faster. You need a refrigerated garage.

Well that’s interesting, lol...

I was curious about the wording of this “Jessica’s Law” , having just researched Michigan’s requirements on snow removal, and had just started to google it when I noticed that the news article already had a link. Yeah... i t’s pretty important to clarify which state.

Anyway... NH’s “Jessica’s Law” is surprisingly vague. It doesn’t even mention snow, ice, or anything about visibility or road hazards . It just talks about negligent driving. Which still fits, if you think about it. But I suspect that NH probably h as more thorough laws about lighting requirements and such that might go into more detail on the matter.

I can barely heat my house, a heated garage is just ridiculous!

(But I bet I could afford one in Mississippi.)

You don’t know how relevant that is to me as I park my 2006 mazda 3 in the garage and wonder if it rusts faster in the warm confines of the garage or should I keep it frozen solid outside?

I got really lucky with this place, it has a two level detached garage, garage on the ground level and a full size shop on the lower level.

Rusting happens faster in warm environments (and warm air can hold more moisture, which I think is also relevant? ) However, I’d guess outdoor cars end up getting exposed to more salt?

That’s all very true and the humidity in the garage in the winter is 100% with all the melting ice and snow that comes off of the cars. I really don’t like a -10 F car in the morning tho. A 45 deg. car is much happier. My car seems to be doing okay, a little rust around the bottoms of the doors (on the inside) and the rear quarters are showing signs of decay. I’ve been hitting all the rust in the summer with a wire wheel and then overspray with high zinc rustoleum paint.

I’m just becoming a bit disenchanted with Denver and taking it out on everyone here. When I’m bored I pick random cities and look at real estate to see how much further my money would go. Montana sounds lovely, to be honest (heated garage or not).

If you like a bit of culture I highly recommend Missoula. I grew up there but ended up going to college in Butte, I do not recommend butte unless dead mining towns is your jam.
